Partner of You & Partners, Evgenia Zusman and associate, Victoria Tugolukova, took part in the round table "PPP for Sustainable Development", and organized by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

Evgenia pointed out the following:

Our company has expertly assessed which UN sustainable development goals (hereinafter referred to as the SDGs) can help improve the efficiency of the implementation of PPP projects. We evaluated the concepts of efficiency based on the requirements for the efficiency of the implementation of PPP projects and concessions in accordance with the law.

Any infrastructure project, including PPP, contributes to the achievement of the SDGs, as it foresees the creation of infrastructure to improve the lives of citizens.

At the same time, the most sensitive sectors for the implementation of the SDGs are medicine, transport, housing and communal services. The least - IT, education, sports.

There are positive and negative ways to encourage investors to apply the SDGs. The positive ones include: subsidies, grants related to the application of green standards. The negative ones are bringing to responsibility for violation of environmental requirements, discrimination of employees.

Working with the SDGs in a PPP project can prevent the occurrence of special circumstances and disputes about termination of the agreement in the implementation of the project after the conclusion of the agreement.

Working with the SDGs is a competent PR project. Perhaps your project is already achieving the SDGs. Assessing a project for compliance with the SDGs can help to avoid triggering political and environmental risks in the form of public rallies and unrest.

If you want to learn more about PPP and ESG, we will send a presentation (info@youandpartners.ru) upon your request.
